Romexus reviews Heroes of Newerth (PC)

Heroes of Newerth is one of those reminds me of Counterstrike....yes I know they are completely different genres, but this style of game actually developed from the inspiration of a modded version of Warcraft. While I can't remember the name of the mod, this game offers gamers of all types the ability to experience a new style of game. You chose a Hero and proceed to defend your base along several "battle lanes." As you kill the smaller minions of the opposing team (yes this can be played in teams for added excitement and strategy) you gain power and money. Gamers use these resources to advance their Hero until they are a walking power house of hell bringing. Some matches can last in excess of an hour while others can be done in a flash if a well kept team is working together. The various means of Hero selection offer some variety to the game and a ranking system provides competitive players the ability to "rank up" with repeated success. Balancing is the most difficult issue with this game, but for every strength there is another Hero with a counter. Overall this is a great game for team players and highly recommended for any PC gamer.
